1989 Jeep Cherokee 2DR Sport. The 1989 Cherokee was purchased in the Fall of 1998. We had been looking for a two door Cherokee for a while before we found this one. It was used as a College/Commuter and for Camping Trips. Then a year later, it was rolled over on the highway one Sunday morning. It was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. I bought it back for $810.00. At about the same time a Jeep Comanche with a bad engine was left behind by it's owner. The plan to "save" the Cherokee with the parts from the Comanche was hatched.

What followed was an on again off again project that would last three years. The long Minnesota winters allowed for many hours to be spent on it.

For a short time there was a belief that it would be ready for Easter Jeep Safari in Moab for 2001. But, it would be ultimately take another year work, probably more than the first two years combined to finish it. All the work was done by myself and a few great friends.
